Restaurant website design with online ordering built in

A menu people can't order from is a missed lunch. Below is a working site for a fast-casual kitchen: a full menu, pickup or delivery from its locations, and a cart that adds up fees and tip before anyone reaches checkout. That's our restaurant website design with direct online ordering, running, before you've read a line about it.

Demo 09 · Restaurant

Kettlefern Kitchen, a bowls-and-wraps kitchen with a sticky menu, dish options with required choices, a pickup or delivery cart and a live order tracker.

We built this site to show what we build. Kettlefern Kitchen is an invented brand, like every brand in our demos, and none of them is a client.

What a food ordering website has to get right

Every order placed on your own site is one you keep, along with the guest's name and a way to reach them again. The site only earns that order if ordering there is as quick as anywhere else.

Online menu design that sells the dish.

Photos, calories, dietary tags and prices on every card, with a sticky category bar so nobody scrolls past the drinks by accident.

Choices without confusion.

Required choices come first in each dish window, and the button shows the running price as extras are added. Nothing changes between the menu and the checkout.

A cart that tells the truth.

Tax, service fee, delivery fee and tip are itemised, and the order mode and pickup time live inside the cart drawer, where people actually check them.

Honest availability.

A dish that sells out stays on the menu, labelled, and a closed location says when it opens next. Guests trust a menu that admits what it can't serve today.

Try this in the demo

  1. Open the Miso Salmon Bowl. Base and dressing come first, and the button reads $16.95. Add salmon and it reads $20.95.

  2. Open the cart and switch from Pickup to Delivery. A $3.99 delivery fee appears, and the total moves from $55.49 to $59.48.

  3. Look for the Seasonal Fruit Crumble. It's sold out today, and its card says when it's back.

  4. Place the order. The cart gives way to a tracker that starts at Received.

Each of those details was a decision, and on your site every one follows your own menu.

Built from your menu

A restaurant ordering system is only as good as the menu data behind it. We start from your real menu: which dishes carry required choices and which extras cost more. The same build suits a group with several locations or a cloud kitchen website, where the site is the only storefront.

Orders also need to land where the kitchen works. We build and run business systems as well as websites, so orders can reach the kitchen through the ordering or point-of-sale setup you already use, and prices live in one place. Change a price once and the menu and the cart agree. Every demo we've built sits on our web design page. This cart started life in our store demo, and you can try the original here: custom ecommerce website design.

How a project starts

  1. 01

    Discover.

A call about your kitchen: your menu, and how orders reach the pass today.

  2. 02

    Design.

We map the menu and the cart against your real dishes, and you click through them before anything is built.

  3. 03

    Build.

Engineered to load fast on a phone in a queue, and to stay easy to update. Delivered in working increments.

  4. 04

    Launch, and after.

We ship it, and we stay on for seasonal menus and new locations.

FAQ

Can direct ordering sit alongside the delivery apps?

Yes. Many restaurants keep marketplaces for discovery and bring regulars to their own site, where the order and the guest's details stay with the restaurant.

Can we change the menu every day?

Yes. Dishes and prices are edited in one place, sold-out states included, and every location updates together.

Does it work for several locations?

Yes. Guests choose a location for pickup or delivery, each with its own hours, and the site says clearly when one is closed.

Can guests order ahead for later?

Yes. Alongside ASAP, guests can pick a time slot, and the confirmation shows when the order will be ready.
